of the
Traveling Gavel
True Craftsman's Lodge #651

The Traveling Gavel is a way for each Lodge to enjoy traveling to other Lodges in our District.
If five or more Brothers attend a Lodge that has possession of the Traveling Gavel, they may then steal it for their own Lodge (until at least five Brothers attend their Lodge to procure it then from them).

RULES

-
At least 5 Brothers of a Lodge must attend to take the gavel (no less). If less than five attend, the gavel stays with the host lodge.
-
The 5 Bothers must attend the full meeting (although entering after opening is allowed).
-
Leaving early (before the gavel is claimed) is not allowed.
-
If more than one Lodge attend in an effort to take the gavel, the visiting Lodge with the higher number of Brothers attending will claim the gavel.
-
If more than one Lodge attends and each has the same number of Brothers in attendance (over 5), than there will be a lecture run off and the host Lodge will then vote and determine which Lodge's presentation was worthy of claiming the gavel. The chosen Lodge will then lay claim to the gavel.
-
Any Lodge meeting is possible for the gavel to be procured. Meeting nights, degree nights and table lodges are all fair game.
Grand Lodge Conventions are exempt from the Traveling Gavel.
